First place for Portrait Photo of actor in Christmas play. Judges said the following: “The angle the photographer used made this photo the top choice.”
Second place for General News Photo of protesters in downtown Anacortes. Judges said the following: “Good framing with town name signs in protest photo.”
Third place for a Lifestyle Feature about Bigfoot. Judges said the following: “Leaning into the charm of a festival or event can be treacherous territory for a writer, but this feature does well to avoid some of those common pitfalls of the form, and succeeds in telling the story of an event through the lenses of historical context, recreational pasttime, and capitalizing on the consumerism of it all.”

Third place for Profile about local 12-year-old Sienna Imperato writing a dyslexia-friendly book. Judges said the following: “This story packed more punch than a typical profile of a young author. It captured her drive, but also explained well what it was like to struggle and even why a font and typography mattered.”

Second place for Best Multimedia for my video “Cryptids with Cameron: Bigfoot / Sasquatch.” Judges said the following: “Cameron’s video showcases the fun and creativity that journalists can bring to their work, with strong editing and story construction.”
